Dr. Zackery A. Tedder, PsyD is a clinical psychology post-doctoral resident (Supervised by Dr. Catherine Farwell, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist) and forensic evaluator with over a decade of experience in psychological assessment, forensic evaluation, and therapy. He specializes in neuropsychological evaluations and risk assessments, particularly in cases related to criminal behavior, trauma, and substance-induced psychosis. Can I attend if I’m not a licensed mental health professional?Absolutely. Many of my workshops are open to the public; however, continuing education credits (CEUs) are only issued to licensed providers (please verify eligibility with your state licensing board for non-accredited CEUs). While all are welcome to attend, please note that topics are often discussed through a clinical lens and may include diagnostic language or conceptual frameworks that are not always presented with emotional sensitivity in mind. These presentations are intended for educational purposes and may reflect the realities of clinical and forensic practice.

What types of forensic evaluations do you provide?I specialize in a range of risk assessments, including those related to violence and sexual behavior, as well as adult and juvenile evaluations and neuropsychological screenings for legal or court-involved cases. I also conduct parent evaluations to assist with custody determinations; however, I do not currently perform formal child custody evaluations, Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) evaluations, or competency evaluations.

Can you explain your forensic process?My process involves record review, interviews with various involved parties, behavioral observation, and standardized testing. Reports are written to be both court-friendly and clinically sound, using a narrative synthesis approach supported by actuarial tools and psychometrically validated instruments.

Do you testify in court?Yes, I provide expert witness testimony when needed and tailor my explanations to both legal professionals and lay audiences.

Are your forensic evaluations confidential?Forensic assessments differ from traditional therapeutic services in that they are not confidential in the usual clinical sense. Information disclosed during the evaluation may be included in the final report, which is often accessible to legal counsel, the court, and other authorized parties. While absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, ethical standards regarding informed consent, disclosure of limits to confidentiality, and the appropriate handling of sensitive information are strictly upheld. Consistent with APA guidelines for forensic practice, all efforts are made to ensure transparency, fairness, and respect for the individual’s rights throughout the evaluation process.
